The Jefferson County Open School is an option school and enrollment is conducted using the Jeffco Choice Enrollment process. Choice Enrollment takes place in two rounds. Besides the Jefferson County Public Schools application process, outlined below, the Open School asks applicants to complete the following Open School specific tasks:

Dates to Remember:
- Round 1 for the 2023-24 school year is December 5, 2023 - January 12, 2024
- Round 2 for the 2023-24 school year opens January 18, 2024
- Choice application offers will go out late January 2024
FIRST ROUND: December 5, 2023 - January 12, 2024: The first round of choice enrollment is conducted as a lottery. All applications received during the window are included in the lottery. Students who have submitted an application via EnrollJeffco are accepted on a space available basis. Waiting lists, which are prioritized according to the list above, will be created if applicants exceed space available. Submitting an application via EnrollJeffco during the first round of choice enrollment represents the best chance at obtaining an enrollment spot at the Open School.
SECOND ROUND: January 23, 2024 - August Any student who applies for enrollment, but is not accepted during the first round of choice enrollment will remain on the prioritized wait list and carried over to the second round. New applications for enrollment are accepted throughout the second round window and added on a first come, first considered basis, below Round One applications within the prioritized wait list.
Submitting an Application for Enrollment
Enrollment is managed by Jeffco Public Schools via the EnrollJeffco system. Families wishing to place an application for enrollment at the Open School should make sure their Campus Portal contact information is up to date for students currently enrolled in a Jeffco school. Families with new or prospective students (including Kindergartners) will need to create a Campus Portal account.
Families will receive notification in late January indicating an opportunity to accept an offer of enrollment or information about wait list placement for each application placed.
